In my teen years I had this really cute silver Nissan truck. I, with my friends would toodle around town, singing songs, and cruising.
Everyone has a place in their town where the speed limit is not what it should be. The one that I loved to speed in was a long stretch, no houses, and the speed limit went from 25 to 45 within two miles. Needless to say, I was going 37 in the 25… courtesy of my lead foot.
The cop was hiding and when I saw him I waved. Yep, I’m busted, huge smile to him and wave. The lights went on.
The officer thought that I was very, very stoned. When he asked me if I was, I couldn’t answer as I couldn’t stop laughing. I was laughing so hard they brought the drug dog in and searched my truck.
No drugs, and $300 later I learned not to speed. I now use my cruise control in town. Ah, how embarrassing.

But alas, this is me, Cathie. Only I can have the strangest things happening to me in my family!
When I get nervous, I laugh. Not giggle. The pee in your pants, cannot stop it for the world laugh.
Chris could not get the ring over my knuckle. I have no idea why this was so funny, it just was hilarious. I laughed so hard, no sound came out of my mouth.
I laughed so hard I doubled over and could not continue. Yes, all of this was videoed. Here, me, doubled over, gasping for air, making no sound, had 250 people thinking I was in the throes of crying.
I, between my laughter, told one of the ministers (we had two, had to be doubley blessed I suppose) to tell my mother I was laughing.
After the ceremony, numerous people came to me, telling them I made them cry because I did. Of course the good cry. Well, this just started me laughing again in the reception line.
So, my make up smeared, I smiled and explained. Many people had the comment, “Only you.” Yep, only me. At least I didn’t pee in my pants… that time!

to look back and reflect on my life, humourously, frustratingly, and the times when quiet times are the best.
