i read Freys book and felt alot of emotion! i even shed a few tears in regards to his parental moments. i thought his account of rehab was one of a kind – mobsters, luck and love – and okay i did feel he was exagerating but got past it since he isnt a writer by day.
however i have just found out about the whole scandal about the book and its upset me alot! i feel betrayed by him a little as i believed him and his story. now i feel like one of those people he used in the book, one he stepped on/stole from etc.
its still worth a read, it has provoked alot of thoughts and emotions from me, but do not buy it (you shouldnt pay him for his lies)

he’s a little overdramatic and graphic for me but it was enjoyable.

is packing for another business trip!
Amazing human fortitude and frailties wrapped into one. As one person said, it’s exhausing – but totally worth it. I am glad I don’t have to walk in his shoes in real life, but perhaps getting a glimpse of his life with make me a more compasionate, better human being.

Even before the author came clean to oprah and the world that this was a “made up” story – i knew! I was a drug user for most of my adolesence and reading this story felt to me like someone who was almost proud of their indescretions to the point of describing them in such an outlandish way that it was bound to be discredited. Initially upon reading this lame excuse for literature, i struggled past the poor writing and tried to give the author the benefit of the doubt but by the end i was pissed off that i wasted $10 and several evenings of my time.

The beginning flowed easily. The middle made me think. Near the end I thought I would hate the ending. The third to last page I hated the book. The last page made me smile. The follows up brought a tear to my eye.
It took me by suprise, but I really liked it.

This was probably the best book I have ever read. Gripping, touching, telling… everything a book should be.

What i liked about it was that it really gave me insight to what kind of feelings addicts have and what kind of sober lives they lead. It really made me think about my actions and how they can effect me later on in life.
What i didnt like is the book had some real slow spots, he lied about certain things and the very end was a little weak (weak in a meaningless sence… youll get what im saying when you read it).
