Last week, I went to a nightclub and danced the night away. I think I’m getting closer to finishing this goal because I was able to dance with relevant ease. However, I want a bit more experience in dancing so I probably need a bit of time. 2 years ago

Maybe it was just the spirit of that night, but I really danced at prom. I realized that most people are not professional dancers and it’s okay if we’re not amazing on the dance floor. Besides, when there’s a whole crowd of people, who’s gonna notice? :p
So I guess this goal has become more about being confident when dancing… not necessarily being able to dance. 2 years ago

I was in the school talent show yesterday with a friend of mine. We wrote our own routine for flags (we are both in the flag corps at school). Anyway, there were some dancy things in the routine and after practicing them like a million times it wasn’t so bad to perform. I still have a long ways to go though. 3 years ago

I find myself absentmindedly doing pop-and-lock moves when I’m in the bathroom, and the songs I listen to the most are the ones that have accompanying dances (e.g. I My Me Mine)...recently I also added a bunch of So You Think You Can Dance videos to my YouTube favorites. Oh lawdy. 4 years ago

I’m not really giving this up, but it’s just not a very important ‘thing’. I added this one back on my first day of 43T, before I knew that I would actually use this clever little site as a real (yet fun) ‘tool’ in my life. So, sure, I’d still like to do this, but I don’t care enough for it to make my top 43 Things :+) 4 years ago

Well, Gloria Estafan et al. were mistaken – the rhythm DIDN’T get me! My brain and my body just do not communicate when it comes to dance (actually, that’s true for so many activities!). I DID have some success with bellydancing, although I only took an eight-week class so I really only got started. Honestly, I have no idea if I looked spastic doing it, but I FELT good doing it. Middle Eastern dance is the right pace for me, and I felt (occasionally) sexy and fluid. But most of all, I learned that I love to jingle!! I ask ya, who doesn’t love to get all dolled up in sparkley, flowing clothes and swoop around making a racket??? hehe Anyway, I asked for a bellydancing instructional DVD and some of the jingly clothes for Christmas, and I got them all, so I guess I have no excuse. Maybe this weekend! 4 years ago

I went to a contra dance for the first time. It was more terrifying than embarrrassing, but I did manage to learn a little. 5 years ago
