"Finally paid off the last $17k of school debt. Feels great to be completely debt-free!"

How I did it: I paid the monthly payments for a while, but then I found that I could take classes at a local community college and push back the payments until 2011 (so long as I kept taking classes).

I did this and saved chunks of money until I had enough to pay it off all at once (which is much more satisfying, in my opinion, than doing it piecemeal).

Lessons & tips: Save save save.

    Here it on paper. $68,899 of college student loans. This is a combination of undergrad and phd. I see what it looks like. I will start paying on this when my truck gets paid off. That will be December no later than February 09. At least it is in deferment. I said it $68,899 is a lot, but not as much as it could be.
