mermaidluver102 huh being bored is such a boring thing
i am an orange belt going on green and i am going to stick with it till i am black belt
How I did it: I had gone through sooo many belts and when i got my black belt, i was soo happy. Its been 2 years since then and I am now a 3rd degree black belt
Lessons & tips: Never give up! I wanted to give up a couple of times, but i didnt and now I am a 3rd degree black belt and I am still doing karate and hoping to get a 10th degree black belt.
Resources: You cant just get a black belt by yourself. You have to be trained by experienced instructor. I sugest a karate school in Arizona on Broadway, behind The Gaslight theater. It is called AIK. It is next to the dance school and vetranary clinic. It is in between two building that are taller then it. Ask for Mr. or Mrs. Knight or Mr. Kramer.

I have a blue belt. But I think that’s as far as I’m getting, because now my little brothers play football on the days I used to do karate. When I first started karate, my teacher gave me a DVD he made of himself doing all the katas and stuff, so I’m watching that and still trying to learn on my own, but it’s hard.
After having been at the same grade for what feels like forever, I passed my 3rd kyu brown belt grading today!!!!
My son and I tested and got our Orange Belts on December 17. Next is Orange w/Black Stripe, then Green, Green w/Black Stripe, Blue, Blue w/B.S., Red, Red w/B.S. and Black. One of our assistant sensei got his Red Belt when we tested for Orange. Sensei’s daughter also got her Red Belt…that’s a 16 year old you don’t want to mess with! (lol)
My katate place uses Junior Belts, so Jr. Yellow would be after white. I just got my Orange Belt on Friday, after 4 months on my Jr. Orange. I’ve been training for almost 15 months now in Goju, exactly on the 28th, and I think I’ll have my black belt by around 2012.
So, this fall I’m in tae kwon do with my son. Last week I earned my yellow belt—one step above white belt. I’m on my way. I’m on my way slowly, because I generally hurt for three days after class every week…
i think i am Finally ready to go back into Karate…. I took a really long break because I wasnt ready to take it seriously… but I will be returning in the fall full force. I think it will help me find my focus. I want to do this… I never gave up, just took a break.
My parents put me in a karate class when I was a kid, and I dropped out…later, I had a semester of Judo and Hapkido in college, but never pursued it even though I really liked it. Now, my 6 year old son’s in karate and just got his yellow belt, and it’s eating me up to watch him—even though I’m hella proud of him.
I got my green belt a couple nights ago… I’m still sore from the grading. I did mostly everything well, but I had a really hard time with the last section. I was told that we were going to demonstrate three methods of self defense, but instead we did the other side of our katas with a partner (Bonkai i think) I never learned the “reverse kata” for one of them, and I hadn’t done the other one in months! I tried, but I was a big disappointment…. either way.. I’m a green belt..woot
My Sensai took me aside after tonights class and said I reach the qualifications for a green belt. He said I need to work on my ability to catch on to drills and control my anxieties though. I agree with him… on top of Karate, I do Yoga twice a week to deal with stress, improve flexibility, and breathing.
He said its up to me to choose whether or not I am ready to get graded for my green belt… I have two weeks to decide, the grading is on march 1st
