But I do believe it is the proper thing for me to do. And yes, it is a “religious thing” as my sister calls it. Since I started going to church and was saved, I’ve had to change many aspects of my life, including the way I present myself to the world. The Bible clearly teaches that God created humankind in the form of two genders, male and female and that there should always be a clear distinction between the two. This distinction is mental and psychological as well as just physical appearance, but the physical appearance part goes beyond the human form into how that form is clothed as well. The Bible states that a man should not wear a woman’s apparel, but it also says a woman should not wear any attire that pertains to a man. Us gals have an extra burden to carry, for while it is wrong for a guy to put on clothing that was made for a woman, we ladies are not to wear anything that would be associated with maleness. In our culture, pants are practically a symbol for maleness, so much so that even wearing pants designed and made for a woman is wrong, in fact, the word the Bible uses is “abomination,” a VERY strong term. While I loved wearing my jeans and capris, I feel the Lord moved me to give them up and I have! I haven’t worn pants of any kind for over 2 months now and haven’t wanted to. I feel so much more feminine and girly… and much more comfortable! And really, we all know a girl always looks better in a skirt!
