I took a class on archaeology in college. I am now taking a second anthropology class. I do not think I will take part in a dig anytime soon though.

I’ve done some archaeological field work in Britain and France, but I would like to get involved in more fieldwork and expand my experience of fieldwork techniques and work in more exciting locations!

It is tedious and dirty but you do learn the importance of working carefully and recording what you see. Sometimes things do not appear to be important until later on in the dig.

While doing my BA I really wanted to just be on an archaeological excavation. The opportunity came, and I seized it!
Since, I have continued my studies and after a period of actually calling myself, an ‘employed archaeologist’, I have gone back to school for an MA. I love the life I have chosen to live.
