I want to be funny (or funnier, if I’m ACTUALLY funny. Don’t think so.) Funniness is great. You can make people laugh when they cry and cry because they’re laughing. If I AM funny, I will be a comedian. Being funny is NOT easy. It’s one of the stuff I admire most in lots of people. But not clowns. They’re scary.

I have done a little research so i written an article how to become funnier.Please let me know what are you thinking about it.

It’s truly easy to find out the undiscovered ways that can make you funnier than you ever imagined you could be. Before we start, let me explain you one of the reasons we find things funny, or at least the way psychologists tell it to be. Everytime we acknowledge something that we have not known of during the past, our brain constructs a new way, from one brain cell to another one.

That connection is what we call a synapse and it works like this:
After we think about watermelons , and if we know that specific fruit is food, our brain will make a path (synapse), that will connect the neural cells collecting the data we have on those two terms. So, every time you think of food, you will have apples popping out in your mind as well. What you’re probably thinking is that this has nothing to do with humor. Well you’re wrong, as this is in fact the way humor works.

The whole process starts with someone telling you an ordinary story. This is what stand-up comedians call a setup You should now be thinking about the story you’ve heard in a certain way. And then, your brain will create connection, leading from this setup to a suitable punch-line. But that someone, will not tell you the punch-line you had in mind, but instead a different one, and you’ll laugh about it.There are chances you still have no idea what I am trying to say, so this example should be of help.

The Setup:
There are Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian man in the car.
Who is driving?
The Punch-line: The policemen.

How did you feel after hearing the setup? I bet, you thought either a Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian was driving. Well, just know that it’s normal to think that way, as our brain was made to think so. You surely noticed that the punch-line is very different than the one you had in mind. Remember this good, because it is a basic principle of the way humor works.

The main thing is good setup. The best comedians will always tell you the setup in a way that will leave you with many possible punch-lines to think of. Now, the more you believe your punch-line is the best one, the more you’ll laugh when you hear the real one. But if you’re already familiar with the punch-line the joke won’t be funny anymore as the brain won’t be making any new routes.If you wanna joke examples go to Funny Jokes

This should prove useful if you want to create some brand new jokes. When somebody tells something that everyone thinks about in similar way, but you find out an unexpected way to understand it. Now, if you tell this to others, it should be funny

Sometimes I guess I try being funny just because I want people to like me. That’s what it makes it non-spontaneous. I make people laugh, but not the people I want. That makes me sad :S

One of most naive ways one can attempt to be funny is through jokes. Telling jokes to others is a “for-the-moment” social interaction. As soon as you’re out of your 100 memorized jokes, then the naturally funny people will take over. So I recommend you lean NOT funny one-liners/jokes, but funny stories. Keep in touch with funny news (one site I admire for this is: ( http://www.dailycognition.com ). Keep yourself updated with funny stuff around the world, so you can share it.

Practically all of my friends think I’m the most funny out of the group. My family thinks so too. When I make someone laugh, that’s when I’m most comfortable around them. It makes me happy too. A laugh is like a treasure. Now, to work on not insulting everyone I know in the process…that’s a whole ‘nother thing.

I am not one of those people that is funny or can tell a good joke. I never have been. I know that it’s not something you can learn, but I have a desire to be funny.
