There is so much I want to see in this world. I think this would be an amazing adventure.
How to visit the Great Wall of China
It made me

How I did it: I stayed at a hostel in Beijing and organised the tour through them. My girlfriend had already done a tour a few years back to one of the reconstructed areas and said that although it was interesting, it was crowded and unpleasant. We instead opted for one of the 'secret tours' - we had to walk up a pretty steep hill, but were then pretty well free to roam all over the old ruined walls. The tour also included a lunch in someone's home in the village.
Lessons & tips: If you're physically fit, I recommend doing one of the 'secret tours' where you can actually climb the ruins, rather than the hotel-organised tours to the reconstructed areas, where you are constantly hounded to buy postcards.

The Great Wall was amazing – I ran up it! So worth it, amazing – not as amazing as I thought – but still amazing!! I loved it – so glad to cross it off my life list!!

It’s lots of fun, especially if you’re able to walk LONG distances, but some tourists tend to leave trash in some sections of the wall =\.

I have always been interested in the orient and want to visit this region. So much history, so much to see and experience.

I did! It was so amazing! I am so happy to have been able to share it with my husband and kids! It was so beautiful! If anyone plans to go I suggest going to Mutainyu section. It isnt so flooded with tourist, it is less money and there arent as many vendors- PLUS there is a tram you can ride for partical part of the hike! I highly encourage anyone whom is thinking about this goal!!

I climbed a section of the great wall, and wow, it was so amazing, everyone should do this at least once in their life! I want to go back there …

I seriously recomend going up the steep but much less busy way. The walk is a little more tiring, but there’s far less traders bothering you, and other tourists getting in your way. WARNING It is quite a bit steeper, so don’t try it if you have health problems or something
