How I did it: My family and I were on holiday in Beijing and one day we took a taxi to the Great Wall.
It was fun, and I think we walked along it for about an hour. I'm glad I had the opportunity to do this! :)

Lessons & tips: It was really hot, so if you want to walk a long way and don't like walking long distances in the heat, i'd suggest avoiding going in the summer.
Also, there were a lot of people trying to sell us things as we were leaving, which was REALLY annoying.

How I did it: We hired a driver that took us through the Beijing country side before stopping at the Great Wall. We were taken to part of the wall that was not as touristy or busy. I cannot remember the name but as soon as I remember, I'll let you guys know. It was great not having loads of tourist there. We only saw a couple of other people. How I did it: I stayed at a hostel in Beijing and organised the tour through them. My girlfriend had already done a tour a few years back to one of the reconstructed areas and said that although it was interesting, it was crowded and unpleasant.     I did! It was so amazing! I am so happy to have been able to share it with my husband and kids! It was so beautiful! If anyone plans to go I suggest going to Mutainyu section. It isnt so flooded with tourist, it is less money and there arent as many vendors- PLUS there is a tram you can ride for partical part of the hike! I highly encourage anyone whom is thinking about this goal!!

    I seriously recomend going up the steep but much less busy way. The walk is a little more tiring, but there’s far less traders bothering you, and other tourists getting in your way. WARNING It is quite a bit steeper, so don’t try it if you have health problems or something
