I got 80G ipod classic in silver. I was hesitant about spending three hundred dollars on an mp3 player, but now that I have it I’d say its money well spent. I have years and years worth of priceless lectures on physics and other topics of interest saved on my ipod (thanks to the itunes university), providing me with hours of joy and learning while on the go. I also have a bit of movies and a season or two of some of my favorite TV shows…
Ipod seem to be going beyond the realm of simple mp3 player on the road to becoming the modern vellum. Maybe in the distant future people would play our leftover ipod in museums to gain insight into the zeitgeist of our era.

I went through 2 ipods, and 3 ipod nano’s. It’s called quality control, Apple, get with it. Seriously, Apple has gone down a bad road in the last few years, going for image over quality.
All of my iPods either froze or stopped working under normal conditions. Just Google ‘ipod crash’, you’ll see for yourself.
Do what I did – get a cheap generic 1GB personal audio player on sale from Best Buy or wherever – $70, and works great. I listen to over 2 hours of podcasts per day, and have to charge the thing once a month, and switch out the 100 or so podcasts it holds about once a month.
