raincloud66 is loving a rare sunny day in Aberdeen!
I’m from the outer hebrides and I don’t speak it.. well, fluently anyway. My whole family and a lot of my friends speak it and I can understand some of it, I just can’t join in a conversation. My first language was english and when I was very young I would throw a strop if someone tried to teach me or speak to me in Gaelic so apparently, its my own fault I wasn’t brought up with it.(????) LOL!! Well… I guess its up to me to put that right. :)
NorthernSkye sick of bad people in her life
to have a list that is less stagnant I am moving this goal off my list.. for now – I haven’t picked up my studies in nearly a year cause I am so busy. I will still speak what I know and still do what I have time for.. but I am miving this off my list till I have more time to dedicate to it

Was reading up on some stuff today and i had the irresistable urge to try and find a way to learn scottish gaelic for fun also to get in touch with the teeny bit of scottish in me :D Thus the journey begins :D
Ithe love to learn and it is time to learn the language of my ancestors. Then I can walk in Scotland and learn more
Can only remember a few words and most of them are swearing so I have to retrain in my language any help will be helpful tapadh leat.
I did first year Scottish Gaelic in my last year of uni. Of course it was challenging, but it was worth it, because the language is just so beautiful and even the way the words are spelled seem magical and lyrical. Well, except the name “Donald” in Gaelic. That whole nasal bit isn’t exactly lyrical.
I do want to learn more. For that matter, I’d like to find places in London where I can practice speaking what little I do know. Hm. I wonder…
THE SECRET GARDEN I would appreciate it translated to scottish gaelic. Thanks

one of the things i have learned and i read it below i think by a young lady named Northernskye if you dont use it you will lose it. I propose a penpal system so that we can learn and talk to each other in Gaelic whenever we need to learn practice or otherwise I am far from fluent, maybe not even Partial fluent but i am dedicating myself to this. I WILL SPEAK MY NATIVE Tounge!! IF it kills me. and it just might.
