i got the divacup after reading a packing list for someone going into the peace corps. i thought, hmm, that would be useful for when i go into the peace corps (theoretical hopeful future tense), and i could get it now so i can get used to using it.
i have been using it for over 2 years now and it is WONDERFUL! i have never had it leak, i don’t have to waste money on tampons every month, and i am not contributing to more waste in that department (did you know that the average women creates 150-200 pounds of menstrual waste over their lifetime??? i pictured this giant man made of used tampons and pads wandering around like a zombie and it grossed me out).
anyway. i would recommend it to everyone! i’ve used it while traveling, during college sports, at school, you name it, it works. save money, save yourself some trouble, save the world! what could be better?
Summer camp, yay! I explained to one of the other counselors all about the diva cup. She seemed pretty interested, and I’m going to send her a link to the site. Seriously when I think about it, how did I put up with pads for so long??

I like this and the divacup as they’re non-latex
but if you like or don’t mind latex, here you go… the keeper
Well, it may not have educated more women about the Divacup, but I explained it to the 5 guys I was living with last month. A couple of them were reeeally confused, but one already knew what it was! Hooray!

... I tried it for six months, and never could trust it.

come on girls, sort it out and look after your body!
Why switch to the DivaCup, you ask? What’s wrong with the tried and true method? GLAD YOU ASKED!! :-)
What’s wrong with the “tried and true” method is the more than 14 billion pads, tampons and applicators going into North American landfills every year. Menstrual cups last for 10 years without creating waste every month.
Additionally, the mainstream products are not actually that healthy for women. Tampons leech chemicals into the woman’s body every month. Menstrual cups are not associated with any risk for contracting Toxic Shock Syndrome.

What is wrong with the tried and true method? Nothing, that’s what. Ditch the cup and stick with tradition.
I’m proud to say I’ve been through 4 cycles without using a single tampon or pad. More women need to try this thing. I could go on and on about how great it is not to have to worry about carrying around or buying “girly supplies” and how it makes me feel good to know I’m cutting back on my contribution to waste in landfills…
