More space; less stuff  — 14 hours ago

You’d be surprised the difference this makes. All it requires is a commitment to just at least start to organize something every day. After you start you end up spending more than 10 minutes because of the momentum. I feel a little lighter already.

2 days...  — 2 days ago

Yesterday…just got some work clothes cleaned and put away. Also remembered to take the extra refill for the lint roller into work (it always seems like I find more presents from the dogs when I get to work when I swear I left the house clean!).

Today – cleaned up general stuff lying around that need to get where it was. This included, of all things, some cleaning products! Also went through mail and tossed junk mail, set aside “to shred” docs and separated out “later” pile (no bills!).

Reorganized paperwork  — 2 days ago

Set up new files for various things, updated, threw out old docs I won’t need any more.

My boyfriend hates the new drawers I bought last week and removed everything I had put in them. Grrr.

ruthie sort of.

I can do it  — 4 days ago

I have got to say, I have not been keeping up with this. At all.

However, Anthony and I cleaned a bunch yesterday. It was very nice to have company, and cleaning is also about 11000% more pleasant with my new gloves.

I need to get with it and just set my timer for these time-sensitive goals and make it a habit. 10 minutes is so minimal. I can do it. I just need to do it.

Did something that made sense  — 4 days ago

Moved serving trays I hardly ever used that were stored in a nice large kitchen drawer downstairs. I then took the meat slicer, cheese graters and the quick chopper thingy (well, it does other stuff) to said drawer. These things were scattered about the kitchen – on the table we don’t really use, on the counter and one part I found on the floor (!).

So, yay for storage for things I use a bit more often.

Also cleaned up some cups I need to be using as I need to be drinking more water in general. That they weren’t clean-clean (although they had ice water in them before…) was my latest excuse. Good one, eh?

Cleaning up my own mess counts, right?  — 5 days ago

Started a new batch of bacon (hey, that Kielbasa goal isn’t just there for giggles!). Cleaned up the mess I made – and since it involves Pink salt, I had to re-rinse some fresh veggies on the counter (I don’t think they had any on them, but better safe than sorry). Cleaned up an inadvertent pepper spill and then washed the cutting board, counter and since I was in the neighborhood, front of stove and dishwasher.

I must be determined never to be organized...  — 6 days ago

Skipped yesterday for no good reason. (I may have told myself it had been a long week or some such nonsense.)

At least today I did drop off the items at the shred event. We opted to only go for the secure document shredding, but they did offer old computer equipment disposal. It was amazing to see the stacks and stacks of old beige PC cases…I’m guessing we’ll probably be taking a few next year.

Putting together chrochet patterns  — 1 week ago

I gathered the loose papers, and started filing hem in sheet protectors and got them into a three-ring binder.

I got about halfway through (must resist urge to scan more!). Will finish up and pick a new project as a reward soon. =)

Shred Day will Be for Us!  — 1 week ago

Gathered items for Shred day and boxed them up. Now we just have to remember to swing by the drop site!

Two fer  — 1 week ago

Monday – Went through everything I still had checked out from the library to determine what I needed to keep, what I needed to get notes/scans on and watch. Returned items that needed to go back.

Also moved books off of the couch and reclaimed a cushion – dog has since taken spot back.

Today – cleaned out tub again (I love using it!). General pickup around coffee table. Got rid of pile of semi-used post-its that I was apparently saving “for later” even though I have plenty of new post-its.

Found a shred-it day coming up the in community. This Saturday, a drop-off location will shred all personal information and take in old computer equipment. We have plenty to give them and it’s free! So the next few days should be just getting everything together to run down to the drop off.
