How to get a new tattoo

How I did it: My cousin is a tattoo artist in the suburbs of chicago so I knew she was the person to do it an wouldn't charge me up the ass for it either. Although I can draw I just really wanted to find something I liked for my first tattoo. I browsed on http://bmezine.com/tattoo/bme-tatt.html to get some ideas. Once I had what I wanted picked out I had to decide if I wanted black and white or color. I didn't decide that until I got to my cousins shop and my cousin helped me decide on what colors to get. I believe in letting the artist put some kind of their own creativity into the piece. I got the bird on the outside first and then went back for the second one at a later time (money reasons). I originally wanted them on opposite shoulders but decided to get them closer together in case I wanted to add to it. Lessons & tips: Find something you really like and think about it for about a month. If you still want it and don't mind it on your body forever than get it. I don't feel that you have to get a tattoo with meaning (although mine has a general meaning) just get something you like. How I did it: I scheduled the appointment 2 weeks ahead of time - the appointment was at 3 and I was there until nearly 9. My foot hurts- but the fish look terrific. How I did it: I found a japanese symbol for perseverance that i really liked and then I found out that the koi is the japanese symbol for strength and perserverance so I did a google search and found one that I liked. Got my new tattoos yesterday in fact 2 sleaves on arm angelic symbols and devinities and other demons gargoyles and skulls. The tattoo on my back is 1 Angel wing and on Devil Wing. Both symbolizing good and evil :)ill get photos asap.

I know exactly what I want too!!! I want to get small foor prints on the top of my foot, then with my childrens initials in them. Most likely just the first initial, because I don’t want anything big! But the problem…..I need to have kids first!

I got the gemini symbol on my foot in July for my friends birthday and since have wanted another. I can not make up my mind on what I want, it took me forever to decide last time. This past Sunday I had several friends get tattoos and one even offered to pay for mine. Of course the majority of them got the world family in hebrew, one got family in gaelic, and the last the celtic unity symbol behind her ear. The family in herbrew had to have been a shot gun choice and I dont want to regret my decision. I know I want a small one behind my neck or on my ribs. At one time I want faith in cursive across my wrist, and now I realize how incredibly stupid that was.
I want my next one on the top of my right foot. I don’t know what it will look like exactly yet, but I’m thinking a couple of small flowers. They will be in honor of my girls. One pinkish and one purplish. And there will be stems, well not what I was thinking vines sort of, along the side of my foot. Still working it out.
