I already walk 15 minutes from the bus stop to home in the afternoons. So to make it a full 30 minutes, I’ll walk from the train station to school in the mornings.

Ok, I will start tomorrow. Only because it’s dark out right now. I need to pick a time to walk and stick with it. Mornings are probably better than evenings for me since I have kids.
I really do enjoy exercise! I just struggle with making time for it because there are so many “more important” things to do and my overscheduled day gets away from me. I find the mental benefits far outweigh the physical. (Besides, our house is cold and it really helps to warm me up!)

As soon as I heal up from surgery, I want to get started back on my daily walks. I really did feel better when I took the time to walk each morning. I can wear my lovely crocheted hats & scarves to ward off the chill if need be :)
I lost 75 pounds once by walking 30 minutes a day and I KNOW that I can do it again I just have to get motivated! Why am I holding myself back? I have 2 dogs that LOVE walks but I always find an excuse for why I can’t walk them; it’s too hot, we might come across another dog thats loose, I’m too tired from work, etc. Why can’t I get motivated????

I was actually starting to enjoy the walks each morning – not to mention seeing a difference in my stamina levels. Alas, a mis-step on uneven pavement had me flat on the ground, cursing quietly and trying not to cry while desperately wondering how I’d manage to get back up and back home on what was clearly a very sprained ankle.
RICE plus Aleve. Here’s hoping it heals quickly so I can get back on track with this goal.

I walked every week day for a full week.
Then my walking buddy went out of town – and I blew off walking on my own for a week. Not Good – this goal should be fulfilled independent of whether I have companionship or not – but I did find another walker to join.
Walked 45 minutes this morning with both companions. Progress.
My boyfriend and I have been getting up 45-minutes earlier every day and taking our puppy for a walk before I have to get ready to go to work. It wakes me up more quickly than a cup of coffee, and there’s very little traffic that early. Plus, it’s getting ridiculously hot here in the south, and the mornings are much more gentle. Hope I can keep this up!
I am walking more often, at least three times a week for at least half an hour. Since wearing a pedometer I learned I walk a lot more than I thought, it’s just not ‘exercise walking.’
