...you’re wondering what a “mojito” is…
the best are the really expensive ones with fresh mint leaves… if your not paying more than $9 for it go some where else!!!!
about 6 years ago, i had my first one while on vacation in Gulf Shores, but Darn it! i couldn’t remember the name of it or what was in it aside from the lime and mint. anyway.. recently i saw a bacard commecial advertising it and bells went off.. OH YEAH! THATS IT! ever since then my mouth has watered for one. unfortunately it’ll have to wait at least another year—b/c im pregnant and intend on breast feeding. sigh but i do love em!
grind a few fresh mint leaves with some sugar (superfine, not confectioners or powdered, but it dissolves better than regular sugar) with a mortar and pestle.
in a shaker, squeeze a couple of limes, add a couple shots of rum, some ice, the mint/sugar stuff, and add a little more sugar. shake it up. pour it into a glass and top it off with a bit of lemon-lime soda. give it a quick stir and you’re good to go!
My first experience with mojitos, at the Kawama Hotel at Varadero Beach in Cuba… 1974.

That makes it fun. And it’s scary that they contain alcohol. They’re very good.
The mint and lime better be fresh, and they’d better use a good rum or you’re just getting an alcoholic 7up.
