I’m not just interested in fame for my poems. That really doesn’t matter all that much. I just want to be paid for doing something that I LOVE to do, and getting paid to write would challenge me a little bit.

Improve Thyself Overnight-Six Thinking Hats 9 months ago

I present a review of an excellent work by famous Maltese Psychologist, Edward De Bono. It is a true recipe for success.
Debono presents a framework for persons and organizations alike through which output could be multiplied, creative decisions could be sought and best possible way ahead can be selected. He focuses on Values, rather than conventional thinking and logic. Values are what we consider important and may not be consciously aware of them.
The most interesting aspect of this new approach is that it hightlights the basic flaw in our thinking/ planning process which is; every person/ organization while planning focusses on maintenance and problem solving of the system where as the most important aspect of improvement is neglected in the process.
Second significant basis of the argument is when De Bono answers the basic question; if these days everything has become a commodity i.e Competence, Information and State of the art Equipment, since all these things are attainable, what is going to make the difference?. He answers by saying that anyone who produces different with same commodities will make the difference and that can be achieved by adopting these Value medals:
Gold Medals – Human Values
Silver Medals- Organizational Values
Steel Medals- Quality
Glass Medals- Innovation and Creativity
Wood Medals- Effects on environment
Brass Medals- Perceptual Values
While planning and formulating a plan, if all above values are considered, it will give out excellent results and amazing outcome. Thinking is a faculty that can be mastered with practice.
