rake leaves

Aw, I love raking leaves =). It reminds me of when I was little; how my parents would buy me and my brother those stupid plastic rakes and let us rake, and we’d feel really helpful but we were probably just making it worse…and me and my brother and our parents and the dog would all just be outside raking leaves and doing it together and the weather was always so nice and ahhh it brings back memories =(

...so this is one job I never mind doing! I always feel so satisfied when I’m done. However, I am less than thrilled when the wind comes and blows a fresh set of leaves all over my lovely clean lawn. :(

There are a few more leaves coming down, but just a few. I’ve cleaned out the yard twice since I posted this one, and not only does it leave me with a nice sense of satisfation, I’ve also got a tremendous amount of compost just stewing for the spring. Having free, rich fill dirt will be very nice indeed.

Got my work cut out for me. It took 5 hours last Sunday, and there are twice as many this time. The leaves are only MAYBE half down, but if it snows before I do it, they’ll be a frozen layer till spring.
