amsterdam 2005/2006 @ dam square 1 year ago

this was the BEST new year’s eve experience ever. from this moment on, i decided to never spend new years eve in my hometown of southern california ever again.

could’ve been a near death experience too with everybody pushing so hard and so packed together like sardines (and i’m barely 5’0”) but it was still the best. i don’t smoke mj, but it was amazing to have the smell everywhere with no authority in sight.

unfortunately, i’m not going overseas for ‘07/’08 but I will be in times square in new york. i hope it can equal or beat amsterdam’s energy

I usually go... 2 years ago

I usually go about Dec 27 to Jan 3. Started this after my last breakup. So far:
2004 – Paris (great fun..they had the numbers 2005 lit up)
2005 – Brussels (fireworks more low key but cool music-huge boom boxes were placed throughout the city)
2006 – Madrid, Spain
2007 – Beijing, China

Future (I have make up my mind in Oct when tickets are cheaper!):

RIO DE JANEIRO

TOKYO

AUSTRAILA

Was it worth it? 2 years ago

Oddly I do not at all remember it. I remember Chirstmas, but New Years?
I was there. I remember that. but what we did, I can not recall, so yes, it was worth it, but I suppose I should have something, anything to show for it….
and sadly, I do not!

I hope to do this this year... 2 years ago

...Melbourne for New Year’s Eve. It’ll be a treat, if it all works out. :-)

Paris 3 years ago

I spent New Years 2002-2003 in Paris. It was amazing. We were at the Eiffel Tower and there was a this museum behind it doing one of those shows with a huge fountain and lights. Ontop of that there were fireworks. It looked like something out of a movie. It was so amazing, I felt like I didn’t belong there…I would love to go again. The only bad thing was that it was soooooo cold and windy. It was so windy that they had the top levels of the Tower closed. I’d like to go back in nicer weather. But overall, it was an experience I’ll never forget, in probably the most beautiful place on earth.

Hmm... thats what i thought... 3 years ago

Hiya,

I had the same plan last year and went to New York, and although it is an experience that would be one to chalk up and something to say you have done, as this site says New York is over rated http://www.pubclub.com/newyear/ and that there are quite a lot of better places to go. Though whilst i was there it did make me set a New Years resolution with a mate of mine that we will spend every New Year somwhere new… so this year, we are considering Paris or maybe Amsterdam…

Paris, 1997. The countdown in french… fine champagne… a hot nutella crepe from a sidewalk creperie afterword… Definitely a New Year’s to remember.
