finish in-progress novels

A whole day of writing tomorrow? What, what?

As of yesterday I had 71500 words on my novel. There’s still a little more to write, but I should have a solid draft by the end of November. Four years in the making, this novel is my dream. Who knows what will happen with it, but at least it has been written now.

For anyone out there who has a novel hanging over his/her head (you know who you are) I can tell you that it’s a hell of a lot of work. The old annoying advice about working on it every day is true.

I spent about three hours working on one of my in-progess novels. It went pretty well.

I currently have three novels in progress: “Book 0,” a prequel to the Ivy series; “Book 5,” the next in the Ivy series, and Joint Custody, my attempt at a children’s book. I rarely work on them because I either distract myself with other things or give most of my attention to the completed but not-yet-totally-edited main project novel, Bad Fairy. I need to get serious about finishing these or at least work on them more often. I love writing.
