be respected and deserve it

I want people to look up to me and care about me and respect the things I say and do. It’s not any particular area of life that I wish this in; just in general. But it’s important that if I’m respected, I also deserve it. I don’t want adoring fans who think anything I do is therefore awesome; people who are in love with the idea of me make me feel less like my goals matter, since anything I do will be liked because it was ME who did it. I want my products and interactions to be respected, but I also want them to be worth it.
