have a solstice celebration

There were some amazing views east and south on this hike. I thought the city looked adorable from this distance.

What an amazing hike. Beautiful weather and amazing nature – enough lichen and moss to tickle my fancy, huge rocks and itsy bitsy waterfalls, clear views with scattered high clouds in the sky…

The plan so far today is to go for a hike on Mt. Tamalpais with hubby. I love this time of year and can’t wait to see the dormant stages of nature.

Really fun. Had a bunch of people over and hung out and adored the longest day of the year. You should do it. Its a fun thing.

Okay, so it wasn’t MY solstice celebration per se, but I did regularly attend the annual summer solstice festival of the town I used to live in. It was basically a bunch of eclectic, half-naked people dressed as fairies running around downtown in the middle of the streets. I wonderful time!

Much, much, much better than the other holidays constantly being shoved down my throat!!
