No guilt - honestly! 3 months ago

They say it takes eight days to change a habit. Well that’s two weekends on the trot where we have not had anyone over. Time to ourselves to relax and catch up on sleep.

I’ve gotten over saying – Weekend? Oh,we’re not doing anything. This just invites people to call in.

These last two weekends we have had our answer prepared in advance – ‘We are having a no family day.’

In reality if one or other of our girls pop by, we are truly happy to see them.

Our ‘answer’ is really to keep everyone else at bay to give us catch up time on all those wee things that get left undone while you entertain or help friends/neighbours/colleagues with their own bits and bobs.

Asked by other half if I felt guilty saying no to friends, I can honestly say I do not feel any guilt at all. After all my friends sometimes say No to me.

Managed to say no to offer to keep a large item from family member.

Sigh! Not this time. Standing firm. But nicely I hope.

No is a really big word... 3 years ago

    Considering it’s only two letters…

This has a million different levels for me… I can’t say no to ANYTHING, and… I would like to be able to, to learn how to.
