Tomorrow I’m having a few friends over for a backyard fire pit party. My dad and I are moving out of this house soon so I want to get in as much from this house while I can.
I wanted more of a ‘classy’ type party. But with my friends that probably never would happen. So a backyard party is good enough :P

My dad and his gf are going away for the May long weekend and he said I was aloud to have a little get together. I’m thinking of one day, having a classy night with my girlfriends and get dressed up and drink fancy drinks! The next night I’m thinking of having more of a backyard party. I have my firepit and my heat lamp and my patio set. So maybe make some hot dogs and steaks!

last night that it all happened… It was sooooo good to see my relatives, a number of colleagues & other friends all together having a good meal, nice conversation and a lot of fun!
Though I’m usually horrible when it comes to speaking in public, my speech yesterday was very well appreciated. Many guests didn’t know each other beforehand so I called a few ppl to step forward, introduced them to everyone and at the same time I expressed my consideration for them – some were visibly touched

title is a pun in French… impossible to translate;)
On 15 March I’ll be hosting a 101-little-reasons-to-have-a-party-party. Found & booked a good location, and now I’m in the creative process of making invitation cards:)

We had R’s sister and her husband over to watch football in HD. But we actually didn’t watch much football—more walked around the house and yard and talked about everything we want to do. We served tortilla chips with chipotle-cheese dip, chili, sundried tomato breadsticks, and homemade cole slaw. R’s sister brought pumpkin cake for dessert. It was fun!

Back in 2003, I participated in the Who Wants to be a MillionaireTV show. This game show allows the contestant to “call a friend” when they are not sure about how to answer one question in the series. That is what I did, but on a slightly more massive scale.
Before leaving for the show, I prepared all the infrastructure at home: computers running Encarta Encyclopedia (Wikipedia was small back then), paper dictionaries, a landline phone with a thoroughly-tested “mute” feature, and lots of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (I didn’t want anyone to answer the call for a friend with a burp).
The morning the show was filmed, my place was a veritable party: I had gathered a bunch of friends and family with various expertise, most of them skipping school or taking the morning off from work. There was the literature expert, the science geek, the doctor, the artsy girl, the binary-search-through-the-history-dictionary guy and so on. All these people were having fun, of quite an intellectual nature, while waiting for me to call during the game show.
Was that a party? We thought it was.
