I have a bad habit of setting up an account with something, using it a lot for awhile, and then leaving it to make a new one (often with the same site).
Sites:
yahoo
flickr
tumblr
livejournal
myspace
emusic
amazon
blogspot? (or the one with google).
gmail (cancel the one I don’t use)
shelfari
neopets

Oh, my! I had no idea the amount of time this task was going to take.
The easiest accounts take at least two minutes to close, which doesn’t seem like much, but multiply by 50, 60, or 70 accounts and it’s a little ridiculous. Not to mention I’ve had to make phone calls for a couple of accounts.
Adobe takes the cake, though. I had to sign in, submit a case on their website, wait a day for them to e-mail me back, download a PDF, read through the instructions, copy/paste a list of questions into a blank e-mail, send it off to another department, and…
...well, we’ll see. It hasn’t been officially closed yet. 3 years ago

Using all the registration e-mails I saved in my e-mail, I made a spreadsheet of my accounts with the site name, my username, and password.
I alphabetized it and am going to work on evaluating them from the top down, greying usernames as I close the accounts.
I’ll also be changing my passwords as I go so I’m accomplishing my goal to implement a secure password at the same time. 3 years ago

I have realized that I have given my personal information out all too often. And, I just don’t use so many of the various accounts I have made. Some are additional email accounts. Some are journals, web-hosting services, or group forums. I feel like I am strung out all over the internet. I feel like I need to regroup, and know where all of my information is stored.
I guess the main problem with this goal is remembering all of the websites that I have signed up with in the past. The main reason that I am not using them is that they were not very useful or memorable. I did not re-visit sites that I can’t think of off the top of my head. I guess the other problem would be remembering all of my old passwords. 6 years ago
