Be fluent in Korean

I can’t really say why I want to learn Korean so badly, because in truth, i don’t know! I’m just so interested in the Asian cultures, partially because I’m 50% filipino I suppose. But I’ve now dragged my friend, Cody, into my quest for Korean learnage (lol). He and I have a goal….

I’m living in Seoul and have been studying off and on for a year or two with tutors. Now taking courses at Sogang University and loving it….I am so determined to be fluent. Any advice other can give me would be much-appreciated!

because I already learnt a few korean words

Goal: By New Years. Go through all my notes from classes & Tutor(this year). Will buy a Korean book to give me motivation.

In the past I have put fourth little to no effort to learn my wifes native tongue. I speek only enough Korean to get absolutely no where. Only after her father died did I realize I have a whole family here in Korea I cannot even have a conversation with and now one of the greatest men I have ever known has passed and I never had a ligitimate conversation with him. I want to learn Korean my goal is to be able to carry on a conversation with my wifes family within one year. I will be working hard over the next year but I am sure I can do it

one thing I realize is that even if I understand Seoul Korean and get fine up there, I need to learn to better understand the Gyeonsangdo satoori since Busan is my goyang after all.
