it must be nearly 3 or more years now since I decided to stop drinking soda. I’ve never liked coffee and tea is about the only caffeine vice I have anymore, but I drink it sparingly usually opting for herbal teas. I love it, being caffeine free. I don’t get headaches as often, I sleep better and on a more regular schedule, it’s easier to get going in the morning (showers are my version of morning coffee) and I don’t get irritated as easily. It just feels better. I highly recommend doing this :) And once you master the caffeine addiction, try cutting back on your sugar intake (cutting soda out helps big time, but try to avoid gatorade, flavored water, kool aid, and other super sugary drinks. If you start reading the labels you’ll be amazed at how much sugar you consume in what you drink) I mostly stick to water and fruit juice on occassion.

So I'm Close 2 years ago

I’ve kicked my everyday habit of caffeine as of now and only take it on a as need basis. The more I think about it, I don’t know if I can give up caffiene due to the way I live my lifestyle. Once school starts back up, I know I’ll be popping the caffeine pills with coffee again…

No More Mountain Dew for Me 2 years ago

This Fall I stopped drinking my drug of choice: no more Mountain Dew. Over a period of about six weeks I gradually decreased my consumption. Now, I pretty much just drink water and milk, and occasionally some juice. I suppose I am not 100% caffeine free, since I don’t tend to read the ingredients on products.

It was worth it for me 3 years ago

Slowed me down a bit, which isn’t all bad. Before I gave it up I had a bad habit of saying things I shouldn’t. I guess being decaffeinated has made me less implusive. About a month and a half ago, I got a decaf coffee from Starbucks; instead of my usual cocoa. It wasn’t decaf. They must have given me the wrong thing because a familiar feeling came over me. I felt the difference within a half hour. I was right back to my old self, obessing about everything. Talking about everything. I’m sticking with the hot chocolate.
