I did great from January until July, but have been lazy this summer. Here’s an article I wrote for eHow about the topic:

fuseburnout 21 Days Makes a Habit!
Just seriously journaled for the first time in months. Nine pages.
Sometimes life just seems really chaotic until there’s time to sit and schedule and prioritize and enough space to slow down and figure out situations.
I feel much more relaxed, prepared, confident, and just overall better.
I don’t know if I need to do this daily, but it sure does help when I need it.
MeggieCameroonski is confused, scared, and not a t peace.
I journal on Livejournal now. It’s easier than writing on paper, b/c I have to erase too much. It helps with OCDness.
i’ve been writing in my journal pretty much everyday for a couple of months so i guess i can say the habit has formed. i find it pretty easy to commit to, however there are the odd days when i just procrastinate and can’t be bothered thinking about things let alone writing them down. generally i try to jump on this attitude and just get something scrawled on the page. i find writing down my feelings, rather than a chronological narrative of what has occurred throughout my day, is really grounding. i’ve been feeling much more centered. it’s definitely something i’ll stick to and recommend for people who are looking for some balance.
i just bought a new computer so i am going to use this as an impetus to journal daily. while i love the idea of keeping a nice little physical journal and jotting things down by hand, it’s just not practical because my hand can’t keep up with the speed of my thoughts. and i’m a perfectionist about handwriting. my main motivation for keeping a journal is to manage my anxiety. in the past i’ve made a genuine effort to write daily only to get lazy due to the factors listed above. i’ve previously found that keeping a journal really helps me maintain a logical, balanced perspective of myself and my emotions. it keeps me calm and helps me dispute any overly negative feelings i may be having. i’m going to commit a half hour each night to keep a journal where i can just do some reflection on myself and my day.
I want to try and figure out my goals through journaling. Using collages with mixed mediums. Using Journaling to open myself up to dream, believe, brainstorm, and just figure somethings out.
As a way to tap into my innermost thoughts and be more in tune with my mind. Keep track of where i’m heading and what i’m doing to get there.
argh this is really hard to do because you get so busy….but i definitely reccommend www.diaryland.com and not doing paper entries
