My colleague that sits next to me says that he tends to think of me as “subdued”... maybe I need to kick my efforts for this goal up a notch.

BrightShadow is making and repairing some jewelry
I can get pretty sparkly when I’m with my friends. Too bad that doesn’t happen much.
I’m a priSm in the dArk.

As I was leaving, the drill instructor/ manager lady was like, “I saw you doing your little drills, skatin’ your little booty off… You were looking awesome! Thanks so much for coming. No. Seriously. Thanks for coming. You’re awesome!”
(This was after I was practicing basic moves like stopping and crossovers for about half of practice by myself.)
I guess this could/should go under “kick ass” or “become a roller derby queen”, but I felt more sparkly about it than anything else.
To count rocking out as “low impact aerobics” right?
Plus, I kind of think my rocking out adds to others’ enjoyment too, you know?
I used to be all happy and felt like a sparkly, happy, glowing something- but I lost it. I really need to find it again, life was awesome and just like physical sparkles and glitter, it spreads and leaves a trail everywhere you have been- you rub off on the people around you and they end up happier too (usually)!
For real!
Even if it’s raining, I can bust out my orange and pink and blue and white umbrella and it will make me smile.
Today after work I went skating in the park.
I checked the sunset time (7:35) and that would give me enough time to go for a bit before it got dark.
I drove down to the parking lot at 31st St. and did about 7 1/2 miles in about 45 minutes. Go me!
But what was better was being outside.
There’s this part of the park in the high 30s/low 40s that juts out into the lake. There are no trees, so you this amazing view of the skyline.
I was just outside, listening to my pod, skating up the lakeshore with this big, stupid smile on my face.
The sun was setting, and all the skyscrapers had this amazing, golden glow.
I live in such a ridiculously beautiful city and am so lucky that I can enjoy it.
