i’ve always wanted to become a chef. it’s the first occupation that, when asked at an early age, i would name as my preference. i’m not a guy who looks like he can eat though, so most people meet that assertion with quite a bit of skepticism. this doesn’t bother me. basically, i’ve got a passion for food and a wild imagination, so if i can use them and produce something great, that’s all that really matters to me. i have also been met by opposition towards this goal (my mother would rather me go to college), so i’ve had to make some pretty drastic changes in my life in order to pursue it without anything holding me back. now that i have, i feel focused and ready to succeed.

I’ve wanted to be a chef for a while now. It started when I was in 8th grade and my family started teaching me interesting cooking techniques. From then on, I would go into high school and be one in probably 5 or 4 kids ACTUALLY interested in culinary arts out of the 2000 or so kids that attended the same school as me. I joined the culinary arts team and, even though my team and I never won, we enjoyed the experience and I got to cook with a renowned chef of the city my school is in. Now, I’m going to be a second year culinary student. I finished my first year in June. It was a tough year- I had to deal with a team that didn’t help me at all which made it difficult to get things done in my section of my school’s student run restaurant. I had trouble dealing with one of my main chef’s- he tends to like embarrassing people a little too much in front of the class. My first term was worse than my other two terms but I had a tough time trying to correctly cut up a frozen chicken into airline breasts in 2 hours and still do 3 other harder dishes in my second term. Although my year was tough, I persevered and will be one of the remaining people from my first year continuing on while many of the people from my first year quit! I have a feeling that this year and my third year will go great and will present even better experience for my lessons learned to become a well-skilled chef!
I love cooking, always have even since I was little and cooked with my mom on holidays. I never realized it was my passion until she passed away and I had to do it alone, it’s what I really want to be,

It is a passion, a thorough love and addiction to the art. I Have my whole life before me, and i shall most definitely incorporate this as my first goal, then after my travels, settle down and open a restauraunt and publish the books and photojournals on my travels.

i might skip the school route on this one and just partner in a resturant and do all the baking.
Dani I need to figure out my life...who will I become.
Long hours. Crap pay. No social hours. And all in all a very repetitive job.
My dream is to be a chef! :) I’m starting to cook for my parents and family every night.
