Walking in a winter wonderland! 1 day ago

There’s something magical about really frosty days. I went out quite late – about 3pm – and the frost was leaving a haze in the air! By the time I headed home an hour and half later, it was dark and cold enough that my face felt frozen enough to fall off two seconds after walking out of the shop :)

    Wrapping paper! 5 days ago

    Gorgeous, glittery wrapping paper!

Actually, it’s for making cards rather than wrapping presents – but Christmas cards, so still counts! :P

The ‘festive’ moment was carrying the stuff home on the bus, via the shops. Got more than a few looks! :)

    Christmas lunch! 5 days ago

Just been tasked with organising the team Christmas lunch – definitely something festive about selecting your first turkey dinner of the season! :)

    Christmas Fayre! 1 week ago

Despite my previous entry, it still seems terribly early for Christmas Fayres – perhaps I needed to start this goal even earlier ;)

‘twas very pretty – nice to have a bit of glitz and sparkle at lunch time. I bought… cookie cutters! A tree, a holly leaf, and a gingerbread man :)

I know, it's kinda early! 1 week ago

But I figure I can take it! ;)

Really, it’s hard to avoid – the shops are full of trees and other decorations – and better, I think, to slowly go with it rather than do the ‘bah humbug’ I usually manage ;)

If nothing else I hope this (a) means I get my xmas shopping done sooner rather than later, and (b) helps me get more in the mood to make those cards! :)

I’ve been in the Christmas Spirit since early October. How pathetic is that!

    Christmas Spirit 12 months ago

So, I took the leap and started forcing the Christmas activities. I had to get a box of items together that I no longer put up for Christmas, I had a person coming from Freecycle and they were coming this afternoon. Honestly, after a couple hours of unpacking Christmas items and processing the good memories that came with those items, I started to feel better. Of course, there are always going to be those items that cause sadness, but even the sadness comes from a place of love and missing a person that is no longer in my life in the same capacity that they were.
