I am going to create a list of questions and things that I want to know about him- get his answer on things such as his family, hometown, military experience, etc…
Got to do this, life is precious.

he has helped my family and me so much,I need to get down to his house for a visit. I hope my brother will not be there (he lives there with them) and we do not exactly get along. He is like a 31 year old 4th grader.
My grandparents are incredible, I want to find out what my grandpa did in the war and where his family was from. My grandma’s family i from Luroy in Helgeland Norway. I think my great grandpa was Belgian but I have yet to know for sure.
I talked to him today, for ten whole minutes. This was pretty good for him. You see, I can’t seem to get him to understand that my cellphone has free weekend minutes and that it is not costing me anything to call him. So everytime I call, he tries to cut the call as short as possible because he thinks it is “costing me a fortune.” So yes, ten minutes on the phone today was a long time for him. I hope he doesn’t send me a check for the phone bill! :P
I talked to him yesterday. He gets out of breathe easily but seems to be on the mend. It was really good to talk to him, he is so supportive of me.
He made it through both his surgeries (triple bypass) and is at home recovering. He is finally up on his feet and able to walk around a bit, though still in a lot of pain. In three months or so, he will have to have another surgery to correct the aneurysms.
Calling him today.
Actually got to talk to him a bit more. We talked about school a lot and my classes and such. He was a high school teacher for a loooong time so he understands my frustration with the things I am dealing with right now. My mom is up there now and is staying through the week after his surgery so I’m glad for that.
Only got to talk to him for a few minutes though before he passed me off to grandma, who is in her own little world and hung up on me shortly. He sounded good though and seemed really happy to hear from me. I will call him again this weekend.
He goes in for surgery Tuesday. It’s not looking too good and I am really worried. My mom will be up there with him though, so I’m glad for that.
I was able to go up to Maine and see him (as well as the rest of my family) the week before Christmas as my grandparents celebrated their 50th anniversary. His health is not good though and he is scheduled to have major surgery later this month to try to repair multiple aneurysms in his aorta and the recovery time will be lengthy. Everyone in the family is worried. My goal is to call and/or write to him at least once a week.
