I would love to learn Spanish, French, German and maybe Japanese. I thinks it so important in today’s world to learn another language.
How I did it: I always wanted to learn many foreign languages so I could make friends all around the world. I'm a very self-learning person, so I kind of studied English for years on my own. At last, I took a course to help me with my grammar and with fluency, and now I can truly speak and write and listen!
I'm sooo happy!
Lessons & tips: Be a self-learning person.
Movies, music and books in that language help A LOT.
Take a course.
Work HARD!
Resources: Internet, books, music, movies, tv series, etc.

I can catch a few things in spanish and ASL sign language here and there. I know the basic greeting and blessing in the Korean language but just scratching the surface really.
I learned Spanish years ago…. and i was proficient for my college exit exam, and I was honestly… pretty fluent. Sadly, I havent spoken any spanish in years and I cant remember shit. My German is weak… I think a German toddler could speak more German than me.
i’m learning a lot of spanish at friday’s from the cooks. mostly Mario. they call me “Mojado”, which means “wet”. i’m learning slowly.
Even just a few more words added to my day could make me learn faster, I learned Italian in school but barely remember much and I took a German course which again seems like I haven’t held much in my head, but seriously thinking Spanish which is a little like Italian so it may make sense to me we’ll see
Laura didn't realise completing these goals would be so satisfying :)
It would just be amazing
Moving this goal to a “someday” list, because while I’d still like to make this happen, it’s not a priority.
Almost bought myself an interactive tutorial DVD set yesterday… it seemed pretty cool, and was only about $30, but I held off because that is PRECISELY the kind of impulse purchase that I have (kind of) regretted in the past. I don’t want to buy the thing and then jam it on a shelf only to dust it for the next several years. I want an execution plan in place so that WHEN I buy it, it never reaches a shelf. Anyway, it was a pretty cool tool, and I’ll keep it in mind – maybe for uploading to the iPod? for language-lessons-on-the-go?? hm.
