The more I "prep" for this.... 3 weeks ago

the more I wish I’d done this 7 or 8 years ago! The FCCJ class is actually an online class that doesn’t start until January, so I’ve been attempting to do some online practice questions on yahoo education…I’m really concerned with how “time consuming” actually answering the questions are…it’s a timed test! Sugar! Maybe Kenneth is right. maybe I’m “overshooting” this, but it’s really important to me,and I’t trying really hard not to lose it right now.

Professor "C" 1 month ago

Don’t wanna use her name without permission, but she’s my new hero! My first class was Human Resource Management, and in the introductions, I spoke about my interest concerning law school. Like everyone else, she asked about the LSAT, and I told her that I’m gonna study on my own because I can’t afford 12 hundred dollars for the prep course. Well, she excused herself from the class and came back with information from FCCJ, which offers the course in 2 parts at 99 dollars each for a total of 2 hundred dollars! WOOOHOOOO! Oh, and as an aside, she’s one of the coolest folks I’ve met in a long time. Hello, 3 Masters, working on a Doctorate, AND a biker chick! Talk about Girl Power! If she’d been an attorney, I’d have made her adopt me! LOL

I downloaded some information on the LSAT, together with a couple of old “practice tests”. This was the first time I’d ever actually laid eyes on the actual questions. I printed two versions; one to familarize (or any other relative term befitting the LSAT) myself with the layout and context of the questions, and the second one, I intend to time myself and keep score. I don’t have thousands of dollars for the practice course, so I have to boot camp myself through this.

I just signed up for the LSAT for October. My goal is to get a 164 on the test. Right now I am at 154 so it’s kind of a stretch.

The LSAT isn't as bad as you think! 12 months ago

If you take a few practice tests, figure our where your strog/weak areas are, and hone your reading comp, you’ll be fine. I studied for about three months, and although I haven’t gotten my score yet, I was much less nervous on the real test that I was with the practice tests.
Some advice:
Eat a big, hearty breakfeast. Like oatmeal and a smoothie and some home fries. I arrived at 8:00 a.m. and we didn’t get out of there until 3:00 p.m., so I was famished. Also, bring asprin, a bottle of water, and heartburn medicine. There is a specific list of what items are allowed.
I would reccomend bringing a timer. The proctors are suppose to give you a warning when time is almost up for each section, but mine didn’t.
Case out your testing site a week before the test. Even if you don’t know exactly which room it is in, you can get idea for the temerature, what the desks are like, if there are cloks on the wall, how much light there is… if you can, take a couple of practice tests in the same building.
DO NOT think about the test at all for at least 3-4 days before your test date. Work overtime, hang out with family, hit the gym – ANYTHING to get your mind off of it. I wouldn’t reccomend drinking, however (I worked out for two hours a day the entire week before the test, and watched a lot of HGTV)

Must buckle down soon 1 year ago

I signed up for the LSATs last year and even paid, but didn’t take it. I never studied. I already have my Masters degree, but want to get my law degree in patent law/intellectual property. With my GPA, I could get a large-size scholarship….of course that is if my LSATs are also high. I need to motivate. I want to go to school this August.
