I just signed up for the LSAT for October. My goal is to get a 164 on the test. Right now I am at 154 so it’s kind of a stretch.

The LSAT isn't as bad as you think! 10 months ago

If you take a few practice tests, figure our where your strog/weak areas are, and hone your reading comp, you’ll be fine. I studied for about three months, and although I haven’t gotten my score yet, I was much less nervous on the real test that I was with the practice tests.
Some advice:
Eat a big, hearty breakfeast. Like oatmeal and a smoothie and some home fries. I arrived at 8:00 a.m. and we didn’t get out of there until 3:00 p.m., so I was famished. Also, bring asprin, a bottle of water, and heartburn medicine. There is a specific list of what items are allowed.
I would reccomend bringing a timer. The proctors are suppose to give you a warning when time is almost up for each section, but mine didn’t.
Case out your testing site a week before the test. Even if you don’t know exactly which room it is in, you can get idea for the temerature, what the desks are like, if there are cloks on the wall, how much light there is… if you can, take a couple of practice tests in the same building.
DO NOT think about the test at all for at least 3-4 days before your test date. Work overtime, hang out with family, hit the gym – ANYTHING to get your mind off of it. I wouldn’t reccomend drinking, however (I worked out for two hours a day the entire week before the test, and watched a lot of HGTV)

I signed up for the LSATs last year and even paid, but didn’t take it. I never studied. I already have my Masters degree, but want to get my law degree in patent law/intellectual property. With my GPA, I could get a large-size scholarship….of course that is if my LSATs are also high. I need to motivate. I want to go to school this August.

I’ve been practising to write the LSAT on Dec. 1; I’m familiar with most of the LSAT prep literature out there – from Kaplan to McGraw-Hill, from the official LSAT books and prep tests, to more obscure guides such as the one written especially for Canadian test-takers. If you want any suggestions, I’d be happy to offer them.

Alrighty, it’s time to get started.

I took a practice timed LSAT and scored 159. It seems like people usually score a bit below their practice or on the lower range of their practices, so I’d like to get my practice score up to 168 before I actually take it in June.

I’m not planning on going to a super amazing law school, but I’d really really like my law school to offer me some financial aid, so I really need a good LSAT score.
