How I did it: We planned this trip for two months and went back and forth deciding which island we'd visit. Lessons & tips: Don't take anything from Hawaiian nature home! Haha...another story in itself...

How I did it: I applied for a job in hawaii to work on a cruise ship. The process took about 8 months, but it was worth it. I did not like the job. But I lived in hawaii and sailed the islands for almost 1 year. I made friends from all over the world and I felt at peace with myself being out in the ocean. It was a great place. To Maui for a week in january 2007, AWESOME!! We stayed at the Napili Kai Beach Resort which was pretty cool – I recommend it. They’ve put a webcam on the beach next to the hotel so your relatives can go on their Internet site & catch sight of you on the beach and be terribly JEALOUS!
Yet a week is wayyyy to short to enjoy all the possible things to do. I advice anybody who goes there either to go 2 wks or to plan all the activities in advance so you pick the one that most interest you and don’t lose time on scheduling activities.

I may get to kill two birds with one stone. My sister is going to be stationed in Hawaii for a few years. I may get to visit her there. Maybe within a year or so for vacation. :)
