Maybe this will help. It seems to make me more aware of the worthiness of certain foods and activities as they pertain to my calorie/nutrition goals.

I had to have a physical for work last week and seeing my weight was a bit of a wake-up jolt for me. I already KNEW I hadn’t been taking care of my self and felt cruddy, but there’s something about that big step scale with the sliding weights on it that is deadly serious.

... I’m back to my old fast-food and t.v. routine. Gotta go get some motivation (and some endorphins) somewhere, somehow….

So I have to write a book, organize a group meeting, finish a pedantic but giant master’s course assignment, finish some work I’ve been doing for a charity, on top of the rest of my commitments, all in this month alone. I need to remind myself that throughout this toxic accomplishment marathon, I have to eat healthy, real foods. It’s really easy for me to get stressed and turn to my staple of comfort, ye olde aspartame.

Have been doing well recently apart from a weird sleeping pattern and being a bit tired & run down as a result. I’ve found myself suffering from quite nasty hangovers times lately, even if I have only had a few drinks. I think I’m going to have to cut down on the alcohol because it is really making me feel awful the morning after. This will be good for my health anyway, as long as I don’t replace the drink with too much cola and rot my teeth away!

I’ve gained a few pounds being on vacation ALL summer. But I have been hanging with my father a lot and a friend who practices MMA so I’m thinking that that would be a great way to get into shape and get into a sport again.
hmmm thinking about it….

since I added this goal 6 months ago the worst I have suffered is a couple of accidental bruises and a summer cold. My left eye has become slightly weaker and had to upgrade my glasses to to a slightly stronger lens but apparently this is usual and my eyes could continue adjusting for a couple more years to come. Good going so far, hope my body keeps up the good work!

been doing well on having a smoothie each day (4 days in a row) – I think I can feel an improvement in my joints from the flaxseeds already.

yardwork and housework have been my exercise lately

not eating or drinking beer when I’m home alone at night (every night)is the hardest thing. I’m trying to make my snacks healthier, like cherries, or yogurt. This is a toughie!

Need to do some cardio

when I am not taking care of myself. Overindulgence in food and alcahol, plus being sedentary have made me feel like CRAP! Time to do something about it.
