    October: Do my morning routine 2 months ago

    This month I will work on doing my morning routine. The routine really helps me get stuff done during the day.

    1. eat breakfast with protein & complex carb FIRST THING!
    2. brush teeth
    3. quick clean-up incl. dishes
    4. critter care
    5. write out plan for the day
    6. make sure I have stuff I’ll need during the day: water, sunscreen, food journal, keys, camera, exercise stuff, emergency protein
    7. quick Qi-Gong: one piece of brocade, or standing meditation
    8. LEAVE THE HOUSE!

    I’m not 100% perfect but this is going very well! I have been going to Curves three times a week (even though it’s Tues-Wed-Fri or Tues-Thurs-Sat sometimes). And brushing my teeth twice a day is becoming second nature. Keeping the toothbrush in the kitchen really did the trick! It’s weird, I tend to sabotage myself sometimes, I’ll have little discussions with myself: “Brush your teeth! Naw, I’d rather just go to bed…/I have too much to do, gotta get out of the house…” Now with the toothbrush in the kitchen those discussions no longer happen. The human brain is a curious thing.

    Tooth Brushing Epiphany 3 months ago

    I don’t recall what made me think of this but I now keep my toothbrush next to the kitchen sink. That’s the first place I go in the morning (to prepare breakfast), and the last place I go at night (to get a glass of water before going to bed). So, no more forgetting to brush my teeth twice a day :o)

    September 2009: Brush my teeth at least twice EACH DAY 3 months ago

    This will be interesting. I used to brush my teeth religiously twice a day, but frequent travels and too much stress put an end to that very important habit. Easy to skip at the end of a long day, or when you’re in a hurry in the morning. So September’s new habit will be to brush my teeth at least every morning and evening.

    In addition to brushing my teeth at least twice a day, I also need to keep going to Curves every Mon-Wed-Fri.

    August: Mission Accomplished! 3 months ago

    I had to actually put Curves in my day planner every Mon-Wed-Fri but I DID IT! I think I got this one down.

    Now to choose next month’s new habit… and still stick with this month’s as well.

    August 2009: Going to Curves 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) 4 months ago

    I’ve been going to Curves 3 times a week for the past month, the next step is to get on a regular schedule. I’m supposed to get a “day of rest” in between workout days so Mon-Wed-Fri it is :o)

    Giving up on this 18 months ago

    Because the goal was not specific enough to remind me what I was working on each month. I’ve decided I need to break it out so I see each goal daily. The laundry IS now under control, however!
