go kayak camping

Years ago I decided I wanted to go camping in a kayak. I took kayaking lessons, went on day trips, and started shopping for my own kayak. I finally decided they were too expensive to buy, so I made my own! I spent months working on it, and ended up with a beautiful wood touring kayak. But I still haven’t gone camping with it!

Using a kayak to go camping is such a fine way to travel. The river is your road. The sun and wind and sky are your companions. The shore is your hotel. And if you are lucky, you won’t see anyone else while you are travelling.

alright first, I gotta buy a kayak. Oh, wait, maybe I should learn how to swim better and hold my breath under water without holding my nose.

Next I gotta get some camping gear.

Then I just gotta go do it.
