that my employer will match my contribution to this organization so my efforts will go twice as far.
How to support the Heifer International charity
How I did it: I gave $150 to a project developing rural communities in Zambia. That is enough to buy a goat and a boxed hive of honeybees. The organization also trains recipients to care for these animals and use them effectively to increase standard of living. Alternatively, I could have spent it on a small designer handbag. I certainly feel like I made the right choice. And, to top it off, my boyfriend agreed to match my donation as his gift to me!
People doing this are also doing these things:

I gave everyone an alternative gift and a small present (like a fair-trade chocolate bar or a mix-CD) for Christmas one year (2005).
Even my right-leaning Grandmother really appreciated the gift I got her, as it was actually part of a cause that my Grandfather had particpated in many years ago as part of his Rotary club.
I just purchased some chickens as my last good deed of 2006. If anyone is looking for a worthwhile charity, this is a great one.
The Bridge Fairy is estatically happy it's Friday!
I have purchased my mother 1/5th of a cow for Christmas and my dad a goat. They’ll love it. (ha ha ha)
My family exchanges real gifts—but we buy each other some gag gifts too. This is the first time my gag gifts have also supported a worthy project! Yea!
Wow! Heifer is also one of my favorite charities !
I think they are really helping those in need and making a difference. So: GO HEIFER!

Heifer International (www.heifer.org) is my favorite charity. You can also help them by going to www.Goodsearch.com and using the search engine there. Happy donating!
I first heard about this charity I’ve wanted to find out more about it. I’m starting to get more information about it and so far it seems like a wonderful thing. I want to contribute to this organization in 2006.
I only wish I could tell everyone how great this organization is. They really know the meaning of hand up vs. handout. I just finished reading my magazine about all the wonderful things they are doing in the world. It makes me feel hopeful but at the same time I feel like I could be doing so much more. It’s both inspiring and terrifying.
