Eat less junk food

Entries

Untitled  — 1 week ago

When I started this goal I couldn’t go a day without eating chocolate or having SOMETHING sweet. It really hit me that I had to change this habit when I went a day without chocolate and thought I was going crazy.

Anyway, my consumption of junk food has gone down significantly… yay! I’m currently working part time at a chocolate store—which actually makes me dislike chocolate after having to smell and clean it up all day.

I still eat junk food in small doses, which is why I hate to take this off my goal list… but since it’s “eat LESS junk food”, when can I say that I’ve really successfully accomplished this goal? haha…

Realized something...  — 4 weeks ago

I was at the movies today for a friends party, and I realized why I have been avoiding candy and junk food… even if it’s low in calories… it’s SO GOOD… Today I had a starburst, a few watermellon sour patch, and a handful of sweet tart chews. And though those are mostly low in calories, I don’t want to desensitize myself to good, wholesome natural foods.

Today I also had about 16 oz’s of sprite, simply because the bottles were so cool! (They were the old glass bottles… so awesome).

So, really I would say that this goal is really difficult for me, considering the life-style that I have… when I walk to town with friends, all we can do is eat… there is nothing really entertaining or fun for us to do. Hopefully I can figure out some alternatives.

xoxo, H.

Whole Foods?  — 1 month ago

Tomorrow my mom is going to take me to whole foods so I can buy some HEALTHY food. My goal went down the drain when I ran out of my vegetables, and just started eating whatever was in the house. I want to cut back on ANYTHING processed, and just go for the healthy stuff.

Eating junk food is a total habit for me. Growing up I was taught that it was ok to eat as much junk food as I could get my hands onto… and now that I know better, it’s a hard habit to break. I think it will be the death of me.

Ugh bad day.  — 3 months ago

So I swore off junk food yesterday, so it’s only logical that today I find a junk food tresure trove in my backpack at lunch… urgh. I ate half a bag of cheetos, then threw them out in discust. I hated myself lol. But then I went running, and sort of evened it all out. So far though, not so good. Tomorrow I will be much more strict. No junk food…. AT ALL… urgh.

I need to do this.  — 3 months ago

Junk food is my vice. I get good grades. I like people. I don’t smoke, drink, or do drugs. Junk food is my one, and only vice. But ohhhh no, not just one type of junk food. ALLL of it. Candy, fries, burgers, soda… I love it all. But I hate that I love it. I know that I am thin (enough), but I can tell that I am probably one of those fat people hiding inside of a thin person… I have a fat soul. And I don’t want to get older and let that fat soul become a fat body. I want to look and feel good all of my life. Junk food is the reason that almost 25% of Americans are obese.

So I am cutting it out. The first week is the most important, I believe, for all goals, so I will be checking in every day. This goal basically corresponds with my others, so I’ll feel like I’m getting a lot done when I am not! FUN! I want to cut down, to almost nothing, my junk food intake, and they say, once you stop, you feel so much better, you have more energy, and you will lose your taste for that processed crap. I’m really both looking forward to and dreading this goal.

I plan on eating less junk food by eating more good food. I plan on eating what I used to when I lived with my parents. My mother is Korean so I always ate a lot of rice wrapped in lettuce and hot bean paste. I will also eat more fish and snack on more veggies. I will cut down on the red meat. Wish me luck.

Crystal missed it by *that much*

What is "less"?  — 3 months ago

sooo I was thinking about this, and I’ve decided to set some goals. I want to be able to go into a restaurant and order something healthy off the menu instead of immediately going to the dessert page (not that I go out very often, but still.) I want to buy more produce than boxed items when I go grocery shopping. I want to crave fruit instead of cake. I want to switch to frozen yogurt (so far.. ick). I want to stop drinking soda all together. I want to be completely independent from almost all junk foods. Its just plain unhealthy.

I’m doing ok so far. I’m a student, so theres only so much I can do right now in terms of buying healthy. Its quite expensive,a nd you can’t exactly save the food over long periods of time without freezing it, so its difficult. Does anyone find that their farmers market is cheaper than the grocery store? Since its summer, I thought I would try out the market downtown…
