I have just started spinning fireless poi and it’s going well so far. I’d like to learn about fire poi, but I need to find someone in my area who does this. I’d like to have the experience be fun & free of 3rd degree burns. I’m thinking of getting some led poi from Houseofpoi.com to use at night. Do a little street performing sometime this summer for the tourists! (and not get burned)

I’m becoming reasonably skilled spinning my little spandex socks around and around.. It’s almost time to set them on fire!

Fire was rained off :( BUT I was discovering the pain= the reason people by soft practise poi on a string instead of a chain to learn the moves. So I set out to the circus shop twice only to find it shut in the middle of the opening hours. a week later my sisters boyf gave me his practise poi! they are loud orange and yellow ribbon poi with cat faces on the bean bags lol! Long and tangly but nevertheless much less painful! Have a cool dvd ‘poi spinning basics with pele’s element.’ Fab!

So cool.. I was on a mime tour (yeah..) with a fire spinner and put my hand up to be safety because I was afraid. And she taught us safety guys to fire eat! Then I saw a juggling shop during a weekend away the following week, walked in and they had fire tools! I wanted fire eating torches but my husband talked me into buying my own poi! They are fitted with wicks, not glo balls, real thing! I’m not sure that’s how you usually start, but being hit with those heavy things is a great ‘aversion therapy’ for when I finally light them! Ouch! hey also had a dvd which I bought with beginner instruction. I just need to get to circus society on Mon nights but I teach at that time… hmmf
