Cooking is great! My boyfriend and I cook a lot together and enjoy trying different dishes…sometimes we don’t like them, but at least we’re expanding our cooking skills!

Flycello is having a wonderful year!
How I did it: I started cooking only from recipies and cookbooks right after I was married. I cooked (from cookbooks) every day of my pregnancy, and then didn't cook anything but baby food for about a year. I started cooking again last year when my son and I were out on our own and I just realized that I can cook now without always looking things up in a recipie box or cookbook. That's a good feeling! I keep cooking new things these days I forget to update here, I cant believe this goal is done already!
I cooked Penne Arribiarta this week and several cakes since Christmas, I dont think they count as dishes but It was a new cooking experience for me anyways, and Im done :)
Last week i went a bit soup crazy and made a batch or two, I have never made a soup before but its pretty damn easy and not to mention cheap too!
I will keep mixing and matching till I hit upon my mums magic soup formula, god I miss her soup!
Only one more dish to go till I complete this goal woop!
It wasnt much of a recipe I hashed together hoisin sauce and garlic stirfry with noodles and bamboo shoots. I eally liked it so it will be on the dinner table again sometime soon!
Tonight I am going to make nachos, bth nachos and stir fry are incredibly easy to make its just a case of thinking of them and being a bit experimental.
Hmm its such a simple recipe and it tastes exactly like shepherds pie but without the baking, feels like cheating but it was goooood1
A lasagne! they are cursed in my house, twice I have tried to make them and either I have failed or ended up with serious burns. this time I broke the jinx even if I had to make bolognase to make it up. Number four on the list I think!
I am all about veggies and “down home” type food. I also love to cook Italian dishes. I try not to eat a lot of Italian food, but I love the taste and I love to put it all together. This will be a fun goal. I think I would also like to learn 10 more recipes that I can circulate with the regular meals I make now.
..and Chana Massala (Chole)
Everyso often Ineed a good spicy dish and a cold beer. This curry is great but both dishes take a while to prepare. Chana Massala is excellent left over food though, yum!
Omelettes.
I know that this is such a basic dish and usually one of the first few things people learn to make but genuinely I have never made one! So for lunch today I made a ham cheese and onion omelette….well it was more a pile of mush….Ill have to work on the pancakeness
Minced Paddy’s
It was a random recipe, so it still needs tweaking but went down very well so I think a sucess. I think this goal will be complete when I have learnt ten new ones :)
