Got a great job for research, review.

Feels like I’m back on track!!

Looks like finances will work out, as well.

I attend a Caribbean medical school that is not recognized by the Dept of Ed. Therefore, no federal loans for me. This wretched economy has siphoned off the few private educational lenders that worked with offshore schools. I did well in my basic sciences and Step 1. And now, the wait…I got so depressed about not being able to start and finish clinicals that I am now seeing a therapist, who alludes that I should just close this chapter and move on. To what? I cannot see myself doing anything else.

There is no way that I will be able to sum up this entire experience. These four years have been some of the best and the worst of my life. However, the day that stands out the most was on my first day of gross anatomy. I can remember turning onto the hall and smelling the terrible stench of death before I ever made it into the acutal room with the bodies. Then pushing open the doors I could see twelve tables with bodies on them. The bodies of course were draped with white sheets . Beside the bodies were tray tables with all the tools we would need to complete our task. The tray tables were draped with lavender colored sheets. One of the students asked why that was the professor told him that studys had shown that lavender was a very soothing color. I don’t see how they thought anything could sooth for what we would see in that course.

I start classes August 18th.

Months to achieve it :D

If you look at my morale-o-meter you will notice that it is currently at 10. The reason being is, I am no longer in the battle for 1st and 2nd in my graduating class from med school, I am number one. I am so excited right now. Oh gosh I still have to call my parents.

I’m almost done with my first year.

This goal is getting closer and closer to being finished. I’am almost finished with this semister, and then I will be ready to start with the busy rotations that will take me on a journey through all of the different branches of medicine, and then comes the hardest part picking which one out of all the one the I have got to experience that I could go into. I have been thinking about going into surgery, because I enjoy doing dissections gross anatomy.
