I’ve come to see that you can be as open minded as you’d like. The effort will bear fruit in the form of seeing the world through the eyes of an open minded individual. You could do the opposite, and the opposite would be your reward. The color of your lenses, that’s what dictates the world you see. Do you want to wear the rose colored glasses today? Or maybe another pair.
Life is what we believe it is. Our beliefs change based on new information. Life is changing, it is transmutable. This being the case, we never know anything, we just believe differently at different times. The thought is a bit discouraging, if you look at it from a certain angle. At the same time, it’s what it is and there’s no changing it. Learning to accept that humanity is flawed, each and every one of us, and that no one has the answers. I find that to be the key to an open mind. From there you can keep up the search, find what’s good, discard what is bad. Create a life full of the best things you could find. Enjoy that life, and die knowing you played the best game you could and enjoyed it with friends.
