fycarr is going to the lake tomorrow! Ready for R & R!

Summary 12 months ago

I’ve been on blogger with my “Single Mom’s Story” blog for nearly two years. My writings have been somewhat sporadic but mainly due to the fact that I’ve been moving about the country and have found myself without computer access for lengthy periods of time. I regularly post to My 43 Things blog via these journal entries and I have a book blog as well as my yahoo blog. I write on at least one of these each week.

I mainly started this goal just to be more computer savy and to keep a journal of my experiences and thoughts. I feel that I have more than accomplished this goal. It’s been a goal that has been fun and quite worth the time!

My Newest Blog 13 months ago

I just started posting my entries here to a new blog that I call (creatively, may I add), My 43 Things. It’s on blogger. I can just select the “post to my blog” option by using the pull down menu and Voila it’s done! I’m posting like a mad women. :)

I also updated my reading list that I keep on my BookNut page at live.com.

Still blogging 14 months ago

I made an entry on my 360 blog yesterday and updated my book log on live.com. I am working on an entry for my Ranting and Raving: A Single Mom’s Story blog on blogger. I have just signed up (on Change.org) to blog on Oct 15 about poverty on the Blog Action Day 2008 site. I will use my 360 blog and my blogger blog for this post since I believe they both attract different audiences. I need to think about what I’m going to write yet.

I have three blogs. One in which I use mainly to keep record of the books I’ve read, my To Be Read (TBR) lists, my challenges (I’m participating in some challenges with different egroups), and I review some of the books I’ve read. I’d like to eventually get to the point where I’m reviewing every book I read. I’m still working on this one!

I have a yahoo “blog” and I use that term quite loosely. I use it, since most of my family/ friends are on yahoo with 360 accounts and it’s a good way to keep up with each other especially since not all have facebook or myspace accounts. I just make small entries about whatever whenever.

The blog I’m most proud of is the one on Blogger. I write about my adventures/misadventures as a single mom. Some are humorous, some are sad (like the day I cried all day because my son went to kindergarten and then day I cried all day because he went to college!) This one gets a fair number of hits each day. I try to write on it at least once a week but lately, although I’m getting some good material, I just haven’t had the time.

I never really know what to talk about though; I wouldn’t want it to turn into a LiveJournal, ha ha ha.

I hope to keep a worthwhile blog sooner or later… something I can be proud of that I took the time to write for.

my blog is about soapmaking….cooking….my cats….things that are on my mind.
and i’m posting a lot of photos, so i’m even more motivated to get a great camera and learn how to use it.

I am having a great time with my West of Mars blog—now if only more people would join the fun, I’d be set!

Best thing. 3 years ago

Really, it’s fun. I like amusing people, even if they are only my friends. Been doing this for years now, so it has become quite a routine.
