How to get a Welsh Corgi
How I did it: I actually wasn't ever planning on getting a corgi until I had one. It went like this:
I was walking to my city library with my sister because at the time, we went there daily to do homework. We saw two dogs there, a corgi and another, bigger dog. They both started running away when we got near, but the corgi stopped, looked back at us, and started padding in our direction. The bigger dog looked back at him, stopped, and kept going. (It was sad... they were separating forever and it was as if they knew it.) My sister and I knelt down and started petting the dog, and it turned out he was really friendly. It looked as though somebody had dumped him, because he had a collar but no tag and what dog as friendly as that would just run away?
After a while, we started walking again and he followed us. We both realized we had already finished homework, so we turned towards the Boys and Girls Club. He still followed. We ended up sitting by the entrance with him, petting him and giving him water from a plastic cup. Our dad came to pick us up and after some persuasion decided to let us bring him in the car, to show our mom.
By the time everyone had seen him, everyone had decided he was extremely friendly, and my parents let me keep him until his owners claimed him.
We kept him for a week, two weeks, a month, almost two, and still nobody claimed him, even though we had posted fliers all over town and called some of the "lost dog" numbers. We had named him already Chewy, short for Chewbacca, because he's so furry. More than four years later, he still lives happily with us and is at the moment "guarding" the front door.
Lessons & tips: I'm not sure what tips to give anyone, since my case was not "want a dog, buy a dog", but "find a dog, want a dog". I guess it would be that the saying is true: small acts of kindness can go a long way. We only wanted to get this dog to his owners, but he has become a family member loved by us all.
Resources: Really, the only thing that helped me here was my love for animals.

When I was younger there was a woman that had a Welsh Corgi in my neighborhood and the little thing thought his name was “Welsh Corgi” because whenever someone new saw him they would say “Aww, is that a Welsh Corgi?”
I want one.
Well, I adopted an unbelievably cute miniture poodle and am going to be perfectly happy with her for now. Unfortunately she is 10 years old, so who knows how much longer she has. When the day comes, I will be back looking for a WC.
