How I did it: I don't know why other people are saying it hurts really bad, because getting your upper ear pierced doesn't hurt in the slightest. I got two done, one under the other on my right ear, and it didn't hurt. The first one was unexpected because the piercer didn't give me any warning which made me jump abit, other than it was absolutely fine. Anyone who wants it, go for it. The only thing really is not to bump it within the first 24 hours or … Read how I did it…

I’ve wanted to get my upper ear pierced since I was a little kid. Yesterday…I finally did it! I was so nervous because I’m not good with needles and when I got my bottom ears done it hurt like heck. I brought my friend along and made her hold my hand, but surprisingly…it really didn’t hurt that bad going in.
Now that it’s been a day, though, it hurts whenever I touch it. It is wicked sore, but it was still worth it. I can’t wait until it heals.
Okay.. so i got my cartilage pierced five months ago the 29th. im not goin to lie and say it didnt hurt, because it hurt like a bitch. BUT at the same time, the pliers had slipped when the lady was putting the ring in, so that may have contributed to the pain. Some people may comment saying its not worth it, and well if it had gotten infected, or it was tender (which is most times a sign of infection) it means 8 times outta 10, you did not take care of it. I would say get it if you truly want to, because due to the position of it on your ear.. depending on wether you get a ring or a stud, it is most times under alot of hair, and if you are sweating alot, the piercing will most likely get infected if not taken care of. It is definately not something to screw around with, because it is very prone to infection, as i had experienced, and as well as a bunch of my friends, but afterwards, most times it looks great, and as long as you can put up with the pain for the first dayish, dont worry about it
I had my cartilage piecred when I was 18 and it was the WORST piercing I ever got! I left it in for nine months and it did nothing but hurt, I couldn’t sleep on that side of my head. Finally it was time to take it out and I couldn’t be happier I did. So overall it really hurts and it isn’t that attractive anyway so don’t bother getting it done
I got my cartilage pierced almost 4 months ago. It really didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would, it only hurt for a few seconds. After that it only hurt when I tried to lay down on that side or when something hit my ear. Just be sure to clean it often, I didn’t clean it enough and it got infected. I definitely think it is worth doing!
sparklysquirrel is getting on with IT!
i love my cartilage piercing. I plan on getting it on the other year after this one heals. I love it :)
I love the cartilage piercing. Definitely worth doing. It does hurt for quite a while if you try and lay on the side its pierced on, but once its fully healed it won’t hurt much. Just remember to use the ear care solution 2-3 times a day EVERY day.
i just got my upper ear pierced i love it so much :) it’s so worth doing
