It is so aggravating not being able to connect to people on this issue. You quickly realize how much religious beliefs dictate the advice people give you and their life pursuits. I feel so different from other women my age. My biggest dream in life is not to get married and have a bunch of kids. I want to be able to talk to someone about relationships and interests without feeling like I must step lightly. It’s almost annoying to listen to religious people talk, it all just seems so delusional and ridiculous. I’m ready to make some friends that are REAL and live in a logical and realistic world. HELP!

I live in Arkansas. Not a lot of atheists here. It’s especially hard when dating because people tend to consider religious beliefs very important.

Those who are not exactly sure what atheism and atheists are, this is a very good Introduction to Atheism

So how many other Athiests or Agnostics are there here reading this post right now. Just send me back a post saying “Yeah” or “NEY” then my mind will be satisfied.
We shouldn’t mock the Differently Beliefed, or belittle their spiritual challenges. But there’s no reason we shouldn’t laugh at someone else who’s doing it! For your entertainment, read these product reviews on amazon. I got the link via a couple of vias. Enjoy. And try not to pee yourself like I did.
I also do not have any real need to “convert others” from their religions but on the other hand I do have a personal interest in speaking out loudly about hatred and intolerance that most “organized” religions have pushed on us since the beginning of time. What I have seen is simple. Most suffering and persecution in the world usually involves a organized religion of some sort. Maybe, just maybe some of the religious community will yell “STOP” and start letting others live the lives they feel are best for them.
My theist friends (yes I count them as friends and they count me as friends) have a hard time getting the basis for my being an Atheist. They can’t see a question where God isn’t THE answer… But, I’ve explained to them that for me… its the opposite… There is not a question I can think of where “God” is even a possible answer.
However, I should note… I do not deny the spiritual, And I do not deny a person’s faith. And. as long as I am allowed the right to my beliefs and my thoughts… I have no issue with those who wish to believe in a God.
I understand there are many people who need God in their lives, I have no need to convert anyone to atheism. The concept of a diety does not make sense to me. In fact, it makes more sense to me why people would feel the need to create one. I believe in evolution by means of natural selection, that’s it. I’m not interested in challenging anyone’s beliefs, I’m simply interested in meeting others who share the same fundamental understandings that I do.
